: I've been trying to end a Peace Treaty with a neighboring AI (without forcibly breaking the treaty and hurting my reputation), but the AI does not seem to want to agree to any trade _at all_.
:
: Hints please!
AI’s try to become the most powerful nation. Ending peace is almost never going to help with that. And the times that a friendly war may be mutually beneficial are very rare indeed. In addition without a much more elaborate diplomacy system, these situations are difficult to analyze.
So don’t expect AI programmers to take the time to implement the selling/buying of a relation decrease!
Some reasons to start a friendly war:
To donate a wonder that is much more useful to the other player
To donate a city as base of operations to attack a third party
To redefine borders
To be able to kill some cheap units to gain experience
To make the game less boring
Only redefinition of borders is (relatively) easy to execute, easy to analyse, and of interest to emotionless AI's. The significance of such an operation is very limited though.
