Hi,
As announced, the new version is a collection of small modifications. To be precise:
Rules changes:
- As known from the snapshots, Cities need time now to be built up. It was simply too much advantage for the small city strategy to get one irrigation and road for free with every new city founded.
- A rework of all wonders, plus three completely new ones. See manual. (I always considered those "Garden Builders" little authentic and a bit ridiculous...)
- The space ship has become much cheaper. The high building costs didn't contribute much to strategy, they just delayed the end of the game after it was long decided.
- Nations can trade space ship parts now.
- Nation Credibility is implemented -- other nations will notice if you break your treaties!
- Some players enjoyed transforming the whole world into grassland. But, I think, most did not and prefered fun to advantage. Mountains remain Mountains now, even in the 30th century, some other transformation lines have been cut too.
- Luxury does no longer cause pollution, I suppose most players didn't even know it did. Luxury is not that attractive to need this kind of disadvantage. The Mass Transit is removed from the game.
- Production tolerated with no pollution now depends on the city size. Even the smallest city can cause pollution, but of course much less frequently than big ones can.
- Several minor rules changes that you probably won't notice.
Other changes:
- The deadline can be chosen somewhere between 2000 and 3000 AD.
- The world size nomenclature has changed a bit, 100% do now mean what was 140% before. At the same time, the two big worlds have become even bigger, so that the new 230% world is about a 320% world in old terms. You have never played cEvo on a map big like this!
- Improved research macro management.
- Macro management finally has an explanation page in the manual.
- Most languages don't have as short words and as simple grammar as English. I made several modifications to the screen design and to the language system (except diplomacy yet) to support them better and give more liberty to the translator.
- The tribe format has changed a bit, old nation expansions can't be used as they are. The main two reasons for this change are a potentially better control over the nation colors and the new language system.
- AI tournament rounds can be continued in Supervisor mode.
- Improved AI interface, see AI development manual.
- Several minor changes and bugfixes.
