Bad news for all who were hoping for more: That's it! Real evolution is eternal but a software project can't be. Version 0.13 has the final C-evo 1.0 rules and the final AI interface. (At least, that's my plan.) AI improvement and bugfixing are now the "only" things left to do for version 1.0. Post-1.0 versions might address the user interface and advanced macro management.
The main reason for release 0.13 is to introduce espionage (which is not a big thing in C-evo, it's not even called espionage). Additionally, I used this final chance to do a few rules corrections that I considered necessary or beneficial. These changes are:
- A nation is dead when its last city is destroyed, even if it has units left
- Cancelling a peace treaty with a nation automatically results in cancelling peace with all its allies (even if these were own allies!)
- Tech tree slightly modified (Monotheism, Theology, Fundamentalism)
- Lybertarianism rules changed
- Units can no longer be utilized for buildings and buildings no longer rebuilt to units
- Maximum size of a city is 20
- Cities >8 do not grow with only one food surplus, it's converted to money instead
- City capture destroys town hall and courthouse
- Fixed several bugs and conceptual flaws concerning stealth
- Maximum of 50 instead of 100 future techs (avoids integer overflow)
- GeoSat Program replaced by Space Port
- Maximum weight of ships is 9
- Ships with weight 6 and bigger require double support
- Only ground units can pillage
- Railmount feature removed, Spy Plane feature added
- Other changes: Cathedral (cost reduced), Hoover Dam (cost increased), MIR (cost increased), Command Bunker (cost reduced), Colosseum (effect reduced), Hanging Gardens/Great Library (expirations exchanged)
And some interface improvements:
- Goto from, to and via transports
- Game tells you when all other nations are extinct
- Warning when not enough unit support produced
- Warning when attacking with less than 100 MP
- Message when trying to load, unload or bombard with too few movement points
Enjoy!
