D5 - D7 should work without problems, but none of them are free. There's also the free Turbo Delphi, http://www.codegear.com/products/turbo, which can compile the cEvo source with minor tweaks - as you can't add anything to the component palette in the free Turbos, you have to hack around a bit with the ButtonA and ButtonB components that are part of cEvo. I have done it, and could probably do it again and document the changes (unless I already did, and put a message here in the forums - they are a bit difficult to search).
