Well, there's GOOD news, it can be done! I ran a multi-human + AI game on my LAN using Remote Desktop and it works well for a single game (there are issues running multiple games).
Basically, someone runs a C-evo game that is setup how the players want it, then they each take their turns logging-in, playing their turn, and logging-out.
The RDP setup makes nice little files that contain all the RDP options so only a double-click is needed to connect to the server from any client. It also can run an optional program at log-in.
