Building roads on city tiles

: Building roads on city tiles does increase your trade on the city screen. However, when you trade goods the amount of money you get is your production rate, which is why I always build mines now and other ways to increase production, because that is what you get when you trade. I get rid of taxes when I have enough cities to trade and pay for the expenses. : : I can't find a benefit of building roads on every tile and was wondering if someone might know if there is a reason to do this. When you are trading and complete a road you money doesn't go up, but your trade does. : : Thanks a lot, : : Roly
