Well, i started playing the other Civs because maybe i was getting too C-evo centric, and what with Civ5 coming out, i just wanted to freshen up on playing them all to compare, i still find C-evo incredibly impressive for a Civ2!
Seems like no Civ2 has won *the* race to be the best Civ2, but instead we've all won the race to be the best we can be. The original SM Civ2 for being the Civ2 that promised to be grander than Civ1, Freeciv for pulling together so much opso effort and going for all the extra forgotten ideas, even Freecol has been reving out new versions recently, and the CTP2 series gifted to Apoloyton to carry on which they are still doing.
What were the others? Ahh yes, all those other efforts that had to be given up or quietly sadly moved on, amoment of quiet please, ahem.
So what was Civ3? What was Civ4? What will Civ5 actually be for us? Well, the diplomacy needs some sanity! The graphics are nicer, err extra. Will the sounds alone make us rejoice? The tech tree is big-err, err bigger. I don't know exactly, but if i play them and they're fun will that be all i need, will there be still be a Civ6? What do we all need with this game, what are we seeking or learning from in all these Civs? Quite amazing really. ;)
